Job Description: - Prepare and present complex criminal cases involving federal health care laws and regulations - Conduct legal research, analyze evidence, and report findings and conclusions - Work collaboratively with federal law enforcement agencies, such as FBI and HHS-OIG, to identify, investigate, and prosecute health care fraud cases - Obtain a Top Secret federal security clearance and be cross-designated as a Special United States Attorney (SAUSA) - Maintain knowledge of laws and legal principles relevant to the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit - Conduct investigations and prepare cases for trial - Attend work regularly and comply with agency policies and procedures, including those pertaining to ethics and integrity - Work in-person at assigned office location and travel up to 25% for case-related activities
Qualifications: - Graduation from an accredited law school with a J.D. - Licensed attorney in the State of Texas and member in good standing with the State Bar - Three years of full-time litigation experience (IV) and four years (V) - Knowledge of relevant laws and legal principles - Strong communication skills, both oral and written - Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines - Ability to work cooperatively with others and provide excellent customer service - Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background investigation, including criminal and credit checks
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience as a criminal prosecutor or with civil/criminal health care fraud matters - Knowledge of white collar crime litigation and experience in U.S. District Court - Familiarity with the federal judiciary
